RCrocs Overdrive premier and dvd release Saturday November 22nd 2008: The end of the season has come and gone, but it was not forgotten. Heavy Metal Concepts was one of many film crews that were out this year filming the competitions. They put together by far one of the best rock crawling movies to date. It is a must see for rock sports enthusiasts everywhere. The AdventureWorks Motorsports team was in the film multiple times doing what they do best, putting on a show. You can get your own copy by contacting Rausch Creek Offroad park at http://www.rc4x4.org or by calling Phone: 570 640 0194 3rd Place Finish at RCrocs Saturday May 10th 2008: After a breakage and problematic filled first event, the team was hoping for a better outcome from there home turf. Changing driver and spotter positions was mandatory and a first for the team. The rules for the events at RCrocs state non-pro drivers only. "It was an initial concern of ours right up until we ran our first course and finished with the best score of the day at that time" quoted Mike team owner and pro events driver. After the first course was done the team seemed like it was on a mission, running every course like a well oiled machine until tragedy struck on there final run. After getting through the first section of the course and attempting the final climb they were into the throttle when a rod let loose in the engine and tore a hole the size of a golf ball in the oil pan. They were immediately DQed from the course. The AdventureWorks Motorsports team thought there weekend was done. After all the final scores were tallied they were sitting in second place with just the shootout course yet to run.( The shootout course is one final course for the top six teams in a class to determine an overall winner.) With there never say die attitude they quickly fixed the oil pan filled the engine with oil and staged themselves for the shootout. To keep there second place status all they had to do was complete the course, easier said then done with a motor that wasn't very happy. Rushing for time with a motor that doesn't want to stay running was just begging for disaster. On the uphill section in a hurry the team managed to put the rig on it's side. In an effort to try and upright the rig Dan did a beautiful 360 degree donut on it's side which put him out of bounds. After it was all said and done the team took home a third place finish, quite an accomplishment with a blown motor. Upcoming Season Saturday April 5th 2008 With the start of the 2008 season just weeks away the AdventureWorks Motorsports team's garage is all business. The team is going over every nut and bolt, examining all the welds, and putting all the finishing touches on there pro-mod truck. "There is always allot to do even when you think you have everything done" quoted Mike Greenwalt team owner and driver of the AdventureWorks Motorsports Team 818 pro-mod truck. "We are looking forward to the start of the 2008 season with our new but already proven winning truck." said team spotter Dan Smith. The 2008 season kicks off in Hannibal, Mo April 25th Come by any of the 18 plus events this team will be at this year and say hi! The team loves taking time to talk to the fans to answer any questions, sign autographs, and take pictures. The action starts soon, where will you be! TOP FIVE FINISH AT RCROCS Saturday November 10th 2007: After coming off their huge win at the ORCC, in Ontario, Canada Labor Day weekend the AdventureWorks Motorsports team volunteered their newly built Pro-mod vehicle to a beginner driver at Rausch Creek Offroad Parks first RCrocs. With a hour of seat time in the vehicle Earl Collins first time competitor, came out of the gate with the lowest score on the first obstacle in his group. Earl was quoted saying "I'm just the guy sitting in the seat, this thing practically drives itself!" After all the dust settle Earl had a top five finish out of a field of 22 competitors. ANOTHER WIN FOR ADVENTUREWORKS MOTORSPORTS Labor Day Weekend, September 2007 Ontario, Canada: The decision to build a new competition vehicle at the beginning of the 2007 season came full turn at the ORCC in Ontario, Canada this weekend. Competing for the first time in Canada our team didn't know what to expect. Competing for the first time in a new rig was even more nerve racking! The unveiling of the new rig at the Ontario Rock Crawling Competition came with rave reviews. Right out of the gate the new rig performed better then expected. Ending the first day of competition with a demanding lead , we were confident going into day two! Day two went better then day one, finishing the weekend with a negative 31 score with the next closest score being a plus 46. Giving us the much needed confidence that we made the right decision in taking the 07 season off to build a new rig. We can't wait to see what the 08 season has to offer to us and our advertising partners! |
